Apocalypse Please (2003) by English alternative rock band Muse is this week's Countdown choice. Written by lead vocalist, guitarist and pianist Matthew Bellamy, it reached number ten (Sept 2004) on the UK Official Download Chart. Drummer Dominic Howard described it as "a very theatrical song about religious fanatics and their wish that their prophecies come true . . . So that they can confirm their religion."
